The loss of a pet hits us much harder than we imagine it will.

I am going to remember this if I can this year "That you can’t continue to do the same things the same way and expect, miraculously, a different result. When an opportunity for change comes up, you have to take a leap of faith and grab it – there is no perfect time".

Have a wonderful 2025!

Hi, Jo - I love your yearly wrap-ups and always find them to be incredibly inspirational. Wishing you a wonderful 2025 ahead and a fabulous trip to the UK (although I do wish you were heading to Canada instead - particularly BC). I look forward to catching up soon.

The loss of your pup will always be hard. My favorite pup had 2 difficult days before she died and I still get teary thinking about those long, sad hours. XO

Overall, 2024 sounds like it was pretty grand. Your trip photos are travel brochure worthy. Beautiful blues!! Look forward to pics from Vietnam and England in 2025.

Bravo on making great strides to improving your health.

You’ve had a great year Jo and I’ve loved following along with you. I can understand how heartbroken you are over losing Kali. I’m sure she’s smiling down on you as you gave her a wonderful life. I’ll be interested to see where you visit in Wales and will be especially interested if you go to Haverfordwest, the city of my one Place Study,

Loved the Apple Music replay insight. Need to give the Planets a re-listen. Not to my knowledge listened to it since school! Love your plans and inspiration for this year and looking forward to hearing about your progress…..especially in the kitchen 👩‍🍳 🤗

Thank Alex ... this is the year you're going to write your cookbook and I'm going to (finally) write mine! See you in the kitchen. Oh, and if you can use your influence with the weather gods to cast a few fine days Edinburgh's way in March I'll be grateful.

Jo, your accomplishments inspire me. I haven't taken up a new hobby in years and have completely dropped out of the 'volunteer' ranks. When I look back on the last few years I see 'shrinkage' rather than expansion. I have attributed that to aging, but lately, I am rethinking a lot of things. Wishing you success with all your heart desires for this new year.

I'm a big one for curiosity so whatever I do comes from that. Volunteering is quite selfish, too, as I love the social side to it - something the rest of the time at a desk doesn't give me. Wishing you a healthy, joyful 2025.

A very honest and vulnerable round up of your year. I can’t imagine the heart break losing Kali after 16 years must have bought.

Wishing you every success wit your writing in 2025

I wish for you, and myself, that less time is spent beating self up and more time being self supportive. You had some hard knocks this year (your health and definitely Kalli and the whole learning to market and write at the same time) and yet here you are - ready to BUILD on the things you learnt last year so kudos to you.

That you can’t continue to do the same things the same way and expect, miraculously, a different result. These words really resonate with me as so many of your words do. Let's find our new results in changed actions in '25~

Firstly, Jo, you know I sympathise with you on grief and the loss of our pets. Simply, it hurts and I still cry. So does my husband. This despite the new pup coming next week. Grief doesn't magically stop as if a tap turns off.

Secondly - ye Gods! You make me feel so lazy! What a pocket rocket you are with everything you've done!

Re books, I haven't published a new book for an age too long. But hope to have the contemporary fiction finished at end of our summer and in distribution by end Northern spring. Marketing? Pish! I just hope for the best!!!!

Have a great week and I look forward to your posts.

Cheers!

A very full year Jo - with a heart of sadness in the mix. I feel like 2025 holds lots of new adventures for you - and maybe a new spaniel to have those adventures with once your heart is ready. Looking forward to following along with all that you share with us during the year ahead. Here's to a happy 2025! :)

Congratulations Jo on your year...but of course tinged with sadness about Kali. I am glad you have found your way back to moving your body in the way you enjoy...and that you did the long trek to Sydney for Christmas with the family. I will, as usual, be travelling alongside you via your words and pics in 2025. Thanks for the on-line care and friendship..and to one day having that coffee together. Denyse x
